What are the best live chat software and apps? Well, if you want to be able to offer your customers top-notch customer service 24/7, live chat software and apps are the perfect way to do so. However, with all of the different companies offering them, it can be difficult to decide which live chat software or app is right for you. So we’ve taken the time to find the best live chat software and apps on the market today and have compiled them into this list so that you don’t have to waste your time searching high and low!
#HubSpot
Although customer support software can be helpful, a chat box that integrates with your website is likely all you need. More features often equate to more money. However, if you’re willing to pay extra, HubSpot has an integrated tool that gives support reps access to live chat via desktop and mobile devices. (Plus it offers in-depth customer support analytics.) Pricing starts at $500 per month—but goes up based on call volume and features requested.
# Zendesk
If you’re looking for a simple, easy-to-use live chat app that also integrates with social media and is highly customizable, Zendesk is a great choice. It has an intuitive interface and is one of our favorite live chat apps because it allows you to create multiple agents who can handle customer service requests on their own or in tandem with other agents. It also has integrations with Facebook Messenger, Twitter, Slack, Google+, and other popular messaging platforms. This means customers can get answers from your business even when they aren’t on your website.
# Freshdesk
If you’re looking for something a little different, look no further than Freshdesk. While their features are fairly standard, their mobile app is what makes them stand out. This live chat app has a great design and it’s really easy to use. If you have an iOS or Android device, definitely check out Freshdesk. It’s free to try but pricing is dependent on your traffic and the number of agents using it. [Full Review] Award-winning live chat software from Zendesk: The company that owns Zendesk also created LiveChat—and that says a lot about how good it is. LiveChat isn’t as intuitive as some other live chat apps, but its simple interface does make it quick and easy to set up and use. Plus, if you want more advanced options like automated follow-up messages or data tracking/analytics, they can be added later with additional modules.
# Drift
I’ve been using Drift to track and measure my interactions with customers, and I’m pleased to report that it has an excellent user interface and is quite easy to set up. It also includes a lot of different triggers so you can match your live chat capabilities to your business model. For example, if you have a physical store you might want to know when someone enters or leaves. A digital product may work best with only order fulfillment trigger events.
# Click2Magic
The name says it all—click2magic is a live chat app that is as easy to install as clicking on a link. After adding your website, you can log in to their dashboard, where you can start adding agents and live chat settings. # Intercom
Easily integrated into websites and apps, Intercom offers businesses both a live chat tool and a customer support feature. Its real-time messaging system helps create more meaningful interactions with customers. As a bonus, it features both in-app and email support channels. Prices start at $99 per month. For larger companies, Intercom offers several packages starting at $1,000 per month. This one is great if you have multiple locations or multiple teams working together on your website or app that need to communicate with each other seamlessly via chat. # Stripe
For most online retailers, Stripe provides a seamless and reliable way to accept payments on your website. The API is easy to work with, with well-documented code available on GitHub. Plus, there’s no limit to how many sales you can process each month at no extra cost. If you have to pay extra for volume (for example, more than $50K in transactions), pricing starts at 0.4% plus 30 cents per transaction. That’s pretty cheap!
# Recurly
If you’re just starting, Recurly is a great way to get a foot in the door with live chat software. The basic plan is free, but if you want to connect your support chat to more than one e-commerce platform or integrate customer support chat with Zendesk and Salesforce, it will cost you $29 per month. However, even at that price point, Recurly offers some powerful features like two-way chat (so customers can ask questions about anything), automatic language translation (so non-English speakers can use support chat without getting lost), and a mobile app that allows you to manage your chats on the go. Plus, there are no contracts so you can try out Recurly risk-free.
# GoToAssis
This software program lets you establish a remote session with another computer. Since most live chat functions run off of your browser, GoToAssist is a good option to run alongside other programs so that customers can reach out via chat and you can take care of customer service inquiries without having to stop what you’re doing. The best part? It’s only $49/month. [Disclosure: We earn commissions on sales made through our link.]
# Olark
Everyone wants a happy customer, but it’s challenging to provide great support during normal business hours. Olark’s live chat app provides around-the-clock service with very low installation and setup costs. Olark was voted Best Live Chat by G2 Crowd in 2018 and makes live chat accessible for all. No matter what time of day or night your customers need you, they can find you online. Live chat is now a part of many businesses because it helps brands create better relationships with their customers through more personalized conversations.
