Whether you have just picked up the love for driving or have been an experienced driver for many years, the one thing you cannot ignore is the quality of components you add to your vehicle. After every five to six years when it’s time for repairs and replacements, it is natural for one to think twice before settling onto any one product. Tyres Wokingham, the one component that has to be replaced after every five years, plays a big role in how your vehicle will perform. This is why people tend to choose from an array of tyres, to choose the one that will be best for their vehicle.

The most commonly known tyres are Summer Tyres and Winter tyres, but there are also All season tyres. As the name suggests, all-season tyres have the qualities of both summer and winter tyres. Though a few compromises have to be made in terms of performance and efficiency, all-season tyres help provide the best of both worlds and are, therefore, becoming the top choice for a lot of people.

Whilst Summer Tyres and Winter Tyres are manufactured with special compounds, their uses are only limited to their respective seasons. This is why these Tyres contribute to an uncomfortable ride if they are used in any other season.

Summer Tyres have a shallow tread and a hard rubber compound. These factors help contribute to making sure that the tyres can be driven easily on dry and wet roads. Moreover, the tread of the summer tyres allows it to provide adequate handling and grip on roads without slipping in wet road conditions. However, summer tyres work well only in temperatures above six degrees celsius. The rubber compound of a summer tyre is hard and it does not function well in snowy and icy conditions. Moreover, the braking distance of the vehicle considerably increases if summer tyres are used in snowy conditions.

Winter Tyres, on the other hand, have a soft rubber compound that allows them to stay soft even when the temperature drops very low. The various ingredients that are used in the manufacturing of winter tyres allow it to stay soft and perform adequately even when the temperature drops very low. The reason why winter tyres can develop solid traction on the road is because of their block treads. The grooves of the tread of a winter tyre are wide, allowing snow and ice to take space and in this manner, snow grips snow making it easier for the vehicle to establish its hold on the road.

All of these factors help in making winter tyres the right choice for temperatures below six degrees celsius.

All-season Tyres, make sure that it provides you with the best of both worlds. What this means is that whether it’s below six degrees or above, your vehicle will have adequate handling, grip and traction on the roads. The tread of an all-season tyre is solid enough to provide grip on slippery, wet and dry road conditions. Even the fuel efficiency provided by all-season tyres is much better as compared to summer tyres and winter tyres.

Whereas, winter tyres would not be able to provide enough traction and handling in summer seasons and Summer Tyres would also fail at the same, All-season Tyres would not.

Here is a list of why using All season tyres is better than using Summer Tyres and Winter Tyres:

  1. With all-season tyres, you save yourself from the hassle of changing your tyres every season and storing them as well. If you do not have the space and time for storage, all-season tyres work best.
  2. All-season tyres provide a better fuel economy and adequate handling, grip and traction on the road, making it an instant favourite.
  3. Switching to all-season tyres is more economical as you would not have to change them with the incoming of every season. Moreover, if the Goodyear Tyres Wokingham would not be stored properly, they would have to be changed faster than expected.
  4. It would be easier for one to focus on the maintenance and upkeep of one set of tyres rather than two.
