So moment in this composition we will know complete information about what SERP is and its significance. So let’s start without detention and find out what SERP is.

    How does it work?
Search Engine Results Pages are web pages that are presented to users when they search for something online with the help of a search engine like Google.

When users enter their search queries (where they mainly use specific words or phrases which are also called keywords), the search engine returns their SERP.

All SERPs are generally the same even if the same keywords and search queries are used in the same search engine. Because almost all search engines present their results according to their user experience.

Which depends on many factors like user location, browsing history and social settings. The two SERPs may look similar but there are differences.

The appearance of the SERPs is constantly changing as search engines such as Google, Bing and other search engine providers try to give better results to their users. They are constantly changing their search technology so today’s SERPs are very different from their previous SERPs.

    ‘Organic’ results
There are two main types of content in SERPs – “organic” results and paid results. Web pages displayed according to search engine algorithms are called organic results.

SEO professionals who specialize in optimizing web content and who are proficient in website ranking work more on these organic results.

Some SERPs show more organic results than others. Because different searches have different purposes. There are three main types of Internet search:

    1. Informational- Informational
    2. Navigational- Navigational
    3. Transactional- Transitional

Informational Searches are searches where users think they can find information on anything. There is no point in advertising on such SERPs as they are for low commercial purposes. People will not come here to buy anything.

Navigational queries are those where users want to find a specific website through their search. In this case, the user may not know the URL of a website correctly and may be trying to find it by searching.

Finally, they are called Transactional Searches, where payment results are displayed primarily in the SERP. Transactional searches have high commercial intent and search queries are almost certain to contain keywords such as “Buy”. Which creates a desire to buy something in the minds of the users.

    Paid results
Unlike organic results, search results are paid by advertisers. Paid results would be very small, mainly text based ads. Which is displayed above the organic results.

Therefore, paid results can only be used by those who have enough money to invest. These are far more expensive than organic results.
