Here’s an overview of all the teams
- Chennai Super Kings
Under the new skipper, Ravindra Jadeja, CSK looks like a solid unit with a fine mix of youth and experience. The yellow army will be missing the services of Deepak Chahar who is nursing a hamstring injury. The experience of Uthappa and Raidu in the top order will be crucial for the team’s chances.
Squad:
Ravindra Jadeja (c), MS Dhoni (wk), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ambati Rayudu, Robin Uthappa (wk), Dwayne Bravo, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, Devon Conway, Mitchell Santner, Deepak Chahar (injured), Narayan Jagadeesan (wk), Dwaine Pretorious, Tushar Deshpande, Adam Milne, Chris Jordan, Maheesh Theekshana, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, KM Asif, Mukesh Choudhary, Prashant Solanki, Simarjeet Singh, Bhagath Varma, Hari Nishanth and Subranshu Senapati.
- Mumbai Indians
The most successful team in IPL ever, Mumbai Indians would be eyeing their record sixth title. The retention policy forced the franchise to do away with some of the key players, such as the Pandya brothers, Trent Boult, de Kock, and more. Their chances look lean unless they play like a settled unit. However, a champion side like MI can never be written off.
Squad:
Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishan Kishan, Ramandeep Singh, Rahul Buddhi, Hrithik Shokeen, Arjun Tendulkar, Aryan Juyal, Fabian Allen, Dewald Brevis, Basil Thampi, M Ashwin, Jaydev Unadkat, Mayank Markande, Tilak Varma, Sanjay Yadav, Riley Meredith, Mohd Arshad Khan, and Anmolpreet Singh.
- Lucknow Super Giants:
Led by KL Rahul, LSG will be the team to watch out for. They have an explosive top-order with KL and de Kock opening the batting. With some genuine talent, the middle order is also stable. Thanks to all-rounders like Krunal Pandya, Krishnappa Gowtham, and Jason Holder, LSG has the desired balance. Avesh Khan and Andrew Tye spearhead the pace attack making it a formidable unit. The only weakness is the lack of a match-winning spinner.
Squad:
KL Rahul (c & wk), Quinton de Kock (wk), Manish Pandey, Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya, Evin Lewis, Marcus Stoinis, Jason Holder, Andrew Tye, Kyle Mayers, Dushmantha Chameera, Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi, Ayush Badoni, Manan Vohra, Krishnappa Gowtham, Shahbaz Nadeem, Ankit Rajpoot, Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, and Karan Sharma.
- Sunrisers Hyderabad:
Under the leadership of Kane Williamson, SRH is eager to add another title to its kitty. Despite missing Rashid Khan, the new look SRH looks like a resilient unit that can give the best teams a run for their money. Watch out for Umran Malik, the young pace sensation.
Squad:
